At 67, Edgar is Germany’s top comedian of a certain age, charming audiences every night with his sharp wit about life’s later years-relationship failures, ungrateful children, fading desires, declining health, and the approach of death. But when the laughter dies down, he is left to face his own loneliness, numbing it with alcohol and short-lived flings. After 25 years apart, he reconnects with his ex-wife Eva (65), now facing terminal cancer. Against all expectations, love rekindles between them, and Eva chooses to accompany Edgar on his comedy tour through Germany and Austria.
